"My wife and I have been researching both our family trees for some time now and can both go back to approximately 1730 in this country. I believe I have ancestors of mine travelling to America and Australia in the early 1800's and it would be nice to have some photographs of their arrival in their new country. Because of this, I have decided to offer this service to other researchers abroad and in this country, so that they can have photographs that they themselves are unable to take."

Welsh Family History Photographs

Are you researching your Family Tree? Would you like to "put the meat on the bones", and add that little extra to your records? Illustrate your Welsh Family History with images of where they lived worked and played. I can take photographs for you of where your ancestors lived, married, worked, died and where buried or where they spent their pastimes, fishing, drinking, playing or walking.

I use digital equipment for all of my photography. I can supply you with printed images on professional paper at A4 or A5 size or on CD as high resolution 300dpi jpeg, tiff or psd files. This will allow you to print them out yourself or take them to a commercial printing service for printing. They will usually be around the 24 megabytes in size. So I will be able to get approximately 20-25 images onto a CD. When I take the images I will put them onto my web site on a password protected page. I will then e-mail you with the password and you and only you can view them and chose the ones you want. Remember that the images on the web site will be at a reduced resolution (72dpi), to allow the internet to display them quicker. E-mail me with the file name and I will then send the files or images to you. I will take as few or as many photographs as you want. Having taken the images, I will send them by regular mail (air-mail), on CD for image files or in cardboard backed envelopes for prints. Prints can be either (A5) 21cm X 14.8cm or (A4) larger 21cm X 29.7cm on glossy professional paper.

I am willing to go anywhere in Wales or south west England. Obviously the further I have to travel the higher the cost will be.

Costs

Minimum order of £20.00

A CD with up to 20-25 high resolution processed files - £10.00

Travelling expenses.
This depends on how far I have to travel over 10 miles.
I charge .30p per mile, over the first 10 miles.

Postage.
Postage will be a minimum of £2.00 per item rising according to weight and destination.

Before I take on the commission I will communicate in writing or e-mail with you to agree terms and conditions. I require payment by cheque, International money order or bank draft in British pounds sterling. For payments in your own currency I will have to charge a minimum surcharge of £5.00, to cover currency conversion charges.

I will take instructions from you as to what photographs I will take. I will need exact addresses, church names, burial plot numbers or names of areas or town/village names. If the address no longer exists, then I will contact you for your instructions. If you have specific ideas that's fine or if you want me to take several images of my choice, to get a feel for the town, village or area you choose, that too will be alright. Each image will have a full description and local map of the area, if possible. I am completely flexible, and will do as much as I can to get the photographs you want. Just contact me by e-mail with your requirements and I will work out a cost and let you know. I will do nothing until I get your written agreement. When I have your agreement I will take the photographs as soon as possible, weather permitting, and put the images up on my web site for you to see. When we have agreed on which images you require I will send them to you as soon as I receive your payment.
